Fallout: New Vegas is a post-apocalypticaction role-playing video game. It is a spin-off of the Fallout series and was developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Bethesda Softworks. It was announced in April 2009 and released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 19, 2010. The game is set in a post-apocalypticopen world environment that encompasses a region consisting of parts of Nevada, California, and Arizona. It is set in a world that deviated onto an alternate timeline thanks to atomic age technology, which eventually led to its devastation by a nuclear apocalypse in the year 2077 in an event referred to as 'The Great War'. This war was caused by a major international conflict between the United States and China over natural resources. The main story of New Vegas takes place in the year 2281, four years after the events of Fallout 3. It is not a direct sequel, but it does mark the return of a number of elements found in the Black Isle Studios-developed Fallout 2.
Players take control of a character known as the Courier. While transporting a package across the Mojave Desert to the city of New Vegas, the Courier is ambushed, robbed of the package, shot in the head, and left for dead. After surviving, the Courier begins a journey to find their would-be killer and recover the package, makes friends and enemies among various factions, and ultimately becomes caught up in a conflict that determines who will control New Vegas and the Mojave Wasteland. New Vegas received positive reviews, with critics praising the game's writing, quests, and improved gameplay, while garnering criticism for glitches and bugs on launch. New Vegas was a commercial success, shipping more than 5 million copies altogether, and is estimated to have sold around 12 million copies worldwide. The game also received a Golden Joystick Award for 'RPG of the Year' in 2011.

Gameplay
Much like Fallout 3, players can switch from the first-person perspective, as shown here, to a much improved third-person viewpoint in New Vegas.
While gameplay from Fallout 3 was retained for Fallout: New Vegas, Obsidian Entertainment worked upon providing the game with improvements upon existing elements while introducing some old and new features to the series. Some of the improvements and new features included:
- Combat is improved upon, with the V.A.T.S. system being updated with several new V.A.T.S.-specific attacks, and a number of kill animations being made for several of the game's melee weapons. Players can use the iron sights on firearms in the game, with the exception of certain larger guns and some energy weapons.[1][2][3]
- The third-person perspective in the game was redesigned to be more 'over the shoulder' than it had been in Fallout 3.
- The Character Creation section of the game was refined to take less time than Fallout 3, with players able to skip the tutorials and proceed across the Wasteland once their character is set up. The option to make any last minute changes to their character occurs when the player steps beyond the boundaries of the starting location of Goodsprings.
- More Perks were added to the game to provide greater options for improving the player's characters upon leveling up.
- The Perk system itself changed, allowing a Perk at every other level instead of every level like in earlier games in order to prevent the player from having an overly powerful character early in the game.
- More weapons were added to the game, including the 9 mm Pistol, the Single Shotgun, Powder Charges, Dynamite, Trail Carbine, and Grenade Launcher.
- A new skill, Survival, is introduced. This skill impacts how much health is restored by food and drink. Skills have a larger effect on conversation choices; whether a dialogue option will succeed or fail is shown up front, and entirely dependent on Skill level, rather than both skill and chance as was the case in Fallout 3.[3] Players can receive a temporary boost to a skill by reading a skill magazine corresponding to it, which can be found around the Mojave Wasteland or purchased from vendors, the effects of which can be further enhanced by certain Perks.
- Players can gamble. They can do this by visiting casinos, buying chips with the three major currencies in the games, and playing either blackjack, slots, or roulette within them. Players can also play a card game called Caravan, which was specifically designed for the game and has its own rules, and can be played with certain people outside of the casinos.[4][5]
Crafting and modding
Although players could craft items in Fallout 3, these items were limited to a few unique weapons. With New Vegas, crafting was expanded to allow the creation of food, drink, drugs, and ammunition along with unique weapons. Crafting can be done at workbenches, reloading benches, and campfires, and requires specific components as well as a sufficient skill level; for instance, cooking food at campfires requires the player to have a sufficient Survival skill level to do so. Some special items cannot be made until their recipes/schematics are found. Players can harvest plants to use in recipes, similar to Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls series. In addition to crafting, players can also modify weapons with special firearm modifications. Such modifications can improve the rate of fire or the size of the magazine, or add a mounted telescopic sight to allow for greater range. Modifications for firearms often require either scavenging for them in the Mojave or purchasing them from vendors.[1]
Reputation
Because of the large number of factions created for the game, developers reintroduced the reputation system that was first used in Fallout 2 and had been absent in Fallout 3. Much like Karma, a player's standing with a faction can change depending on how they interact with them and what decisions they make. If, for example, players help a faction, their reputation with them improves in all locations controlled by that faction; opting to kill their members will cause a loss of reputation. The type of reputation the player has with each faction affects how non-player characters (NPCs) behave towards them; a good reputation might make completing some quests easier, provide discounts with the faction's vendors, and cause faction members to offer gifts; a bad reputation may lead to the faction refusing to help the player or attacking them on sight, or sending assassins after the player.[6]
Companions
Companions in New Vegas are much easier to control than in Fallout 3, through the use of the 'Companion Wheel'. Through the Wheel, players can switch a companion's tactics in combat, including their behavior and how they attack, as well as dismiss them, treat them for injuries, and access their inventory. Players are capable of having two companions with them at any one time – one humanoid and one non-humanoid. Companions can confer a unique Perk or advantage and have the opportunity to be improved by completing a special quest related to them. They can also be sent directly to a player's home upon being dismissed rather than returning to their original location.
Hardcore mode
An optional difficulty setting included in New Vegas is the Hardcore mode, which delivers more realism and intensity to the playing environment. While the standard adjustable difficulty level settings only affect combat difficulty, Hardcore mode adds statistics and encourages the player to consider resource management and combat tactics. Game director Josh Sawyer stated that the mode was inspired by several different Fallout 3mods.[7] In this mode, the following occurs:[8][9]
- All healing items, including food and water, do not heal the player instantly but work over a short period of time. RadAway also takes time to gradually decrease radiation poisoning, rather than instantly.
- Stimpaks can no longer heal crippled limbs. Players must either use Doctor's Bags, sleep in an owned or rented bed, use the chem Hydra, or visit a doctor to heal limbs.
- Ammunition and caps have weight, reducing the amount that can be carried.
- Players must eat, drink, and sleep, to avoid starvation, dehydration, and exhaustion; failure to do so confers a steady decrease in certain skills and eventually leads to death if untreated.
- Companions can be killed upon being reduced to zero hit points, rather than losing consciousness.
- Completing the game on this mode (from start to finish as the mode can be turned on at any point during the game) results in either an achievement (Xbox 360[10]/Steam[11]) or trophy (PlayStation 3)[12] being awarded.
Plot
Setting
Fallout: New Vegas takes place during the year 2281 and within the region surrounding the former city of Las Vegas (now called 'New Vegas'), around four years after the events of Fallout 3, and roughly around 204 years since the Great War of 2077. At the time the game begins, three major powers seek control over New Vegas and its surroundings – The New California Republic (NCR), Caesar's Legion, and Mr. House. Since their last appearance in Fallout 2, the NCR has become overextended and mismanaged, but their expansion eastwards has allowed them to gain control of the majority of territories in the Mojave, with the only threat to their expansion coming from the slave-driving, Roman army-styled forces of Caesar's Legion, led by their leader Caesar, who have conquered and united 86 tribes further to the east, and now plan to conquer New Vegas. Four years before the start of the game, both sides came into conflict at the Hoover Dam, a major landmark that supplies power to New Vegas,[3] and which both sides seek control over. As both sides prepare for a second, inevitable conflict over the dam, Mr. House, a mysterious businessman who presides over New Vegas as its de facto leader with an army of 'Securitron' security robots, also seeks control of the dam while ensuring neither side gains control, and is moving towards the final stages of his plans.
Much of the game takes place in the Mojave Wasteland, which encompasses parts of the former states of California, Nevada, and Arizona. Along with the three main factions, the region also has a number of minor factions which include: Boomers – a tribe of heavily armed former Vault dwellers who have taken shelter at Nellis Air Force Base; Powder Gangers – a violent group of escaped convicts; Great Khans – a tribe of drug dealers and raiders; and the Brotherhood of Steel – technology-craving remnants of the U.S. Army, who are attempting to secure any technology that could cause significant harm. Along with the Hoover Dam and Nellis Air Force Base, the region has additional landmarks, including its own vaults and the HELIOS One solar energy plant.[9]
Story
The protagonist is a courier working for the Mojave Express. The game begins as the Courier is ambushed by a mobster named Benny (voiced by Matthew Perry) en route to New Vegas to deliver a mysterious item known as the 'Platinum Chip'. Benny shoots the Courier and leaves them for dead, taking the Chip for himself, but the Courier is rescued by a Securitron named Victor and brought back to good health by Doc Mitchell (voiced by Michael Hogan) in Goodsprings.[3] The Courier embarks on a journey across the Mojave Wasteland to locate and confront Benny and get the ‘platinum chip’.
The game proceeds according to the Courier's decisions and involves many different events, factions, and characters. The main storyline follows the Courier's pursuit of Benny to both settle the score and retrieve the Platinum Chip. Along the way, the Courier encounters many groups of people with various problems that they can choose to assist with, ignore, or otherwise sabotage, resulting in positive or negative karma. Eventually, after finding Benny and the Chip, the Courier finds themselves in the middle of a conflict between three major factions: Caesar's Legion, a group of Roman-esque slavers, the New California Republic (NCR), an expansionist democratic federation, and Mr. House (voiced by René Auberjonois), the enigmatic de facto ruler of New Vegas, in command of an army of Securitron robots that patrols the city. Each of the three sides aims to control the Hoover Dam, which is still operational and supplying the Southwest with power and clean, non-irradiated water; thus, control of the dam means effective control of the region. It is revealed that Mr. House, a human from before the Great War and surviving via a contained life support chamber, ordered the Platinum Chip's delivery before the war. The Chip is a data storage device with a program that can upgrade the Securitrons to a greater level of combat effectiveness, and was stolen by Benny as part of a scheme to take over House's security and claim New Vegas for himself with the help of a reprogrammed Securitron named Yes Man.
The Courier is notified that Caesar's Legion is attacking Hoover Dam, and they must take part to decide the outcome. As the Legion strikes the Dam, led by the fearsome Legate Lanius, the NCR defends its position under General Lee Oliver. Depending on the faction sided with up to the battle, the Courier will either destroy the Dam so no faction can claim it, conquer it for Caesar's Legion, defend it for the NCR or connect the dam's systems to House's network so either he or Yes Man can take control. The game concludes with a narrated slideshow showing and explaining the results of the Courier's actions, the battle for Hoover Dam deciding the faction that comes to power over New Vegas and the Mojave, and the fates of the various other factions based on how the player negotiated with them and which of the major factions emerged dominant.
Endings
The player then faces a choice to determine the fate of the Mojave Wasteland.
- New California Republic – siding with the NCR will lead the Courier to defend Hoover Dam from the Legion. The Courier must also lead an attack on the Legate's camp where they have the choice to either convince the Legate to end the fighting peacefully, or they can kill the Legate. The NCR wins the battle and annexes New Vegas and the entire Mojave Wasteland.
- Caesar's Legion – siding with the Legion will lead the Courier to help attack Hoover Dam. The Courier must enter Oliver's compound where they have the choice to either convince him to retreat for the sake of his men, or they can kill him. The Legion seizes Hoover Dam, forcing the NCR to retreat, allowing them to gain control over New Vegas and the Mojave Wasteland.
- Mr. House – siding with Mr. House will lead the Courier to enter the control room in Hoover Dam and install the override chip in order to power the Securitron Army. The Courier must either convince both General Oliver and the Legate to stand down or they can kill them. Mr. House and his Securitrons drive both the NCR and the Legion out of Hoover Dam, taking control of it, while still running New Vegas.
- Yes Man – siding with Yes Man will lead the Courier to go solo (if the Courier helps Yes Man take over New Vegas and Mr. House's Securitrons) and take over Hoover Dam for themselves. The Courier must either convince both General Oliver and the Legate to step down, or they can kill them. The Courier and Yes Man eventually take control of Hoover Dam, while ensuring New Vegas's independence.
Development
'Welcome to New Vegas' promotion at PAX 2010
In 2004, Bethesda Softworks purchased the license to develop and publish Fallout 3, as well as an option to create two sequels, from Interplay Entertainment.[13] Three years later they bought the Falloutintellectual property.[14] Bethesda abandoned the original gameplay style of previous Fallout titles; instead of an isometric game with action point/turn-based combat, Bethesda's Fallout 3 was a fully 3D game with real-time combat as well as the action point-based V.A.T.S. system.[15][16][17]
Fallout 3 was a critical and commercial success upon its release in 2008,[15] and Bethesda commissioned a sequel. With their own developers busy working on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Bethesda reached out to Obsidian Entertainment, a company founded by several former members of Interplay's original Fallout developers Black Isle Studios, to develop the game. Bethesda and Obsidian decided to create a game that would continue the 'West Coast' story rather than the plot of Fallout 3.[15][18] Bethesda rejected Obsidian's idea to set the game between the events of Fallout 2 and Fallout 3, but they did approve of setting the game in Las Vegas.[18][19]
Fallout: New Vegas was announced in April 2009.[20] Obsidian's development team included former Interplay/Black Isle employees Josh Sawyer as director and Chris Avellone as a writer and director of the game's downloadable content.[7][21] The plot of New Vegas takes heavy inspiration from the original Fallout 3 that Black Isle developed, commonly known by its codename 'Van Buren',[22] which Sawyer also directed prior to its cancellation.[23] The most notable example is the inclusion of Caesar's Legion, a faction originally created for Van Buren.[22][24] Obsidian also included other factions from previous Fallout games and avoided writing any faction as entirely good or evil, but instead as potential rivals depending on what path the player decided to pursue.[22][24]
The game had a somewhat short development cycle of 18 months.[25]New Vegas is similar to Fallout 3, in that both games use the Gamebryo engine, yet it improved on the previous installment's source code, with some graphics rendering improvements and new art assets, while also reworking the engine to accommodate the extra lights and effects of the Las Vegas Strip.[24][26] Obsidian also refined the real-time shooting mechanics and added iron-sights aiming to make playing without V.A.T.S. a more viable option than it was in Fallout 3.[23][27] One PC version of the game relies on Steamworks for online functions, such as achievements and cloud save storage, as well as DRM.[28] A version without DRM was made available by GoG.com on June 1, 2017.[29]
Producer Jason Bergman announced the involvement of several celebrities, including Ron Perlman as the game's narrator and Wayne Newton as radio DJ 'Mr. New Vegas'.[30] He also confirmed that the game would include voice acting from Matthew Perry, Zachary Levi, Kris Kristofferson, Danny Trejo, Michael Dorn and Felicia Day. The team brought on casting director and voice producer Timothy Cubbison to oversee the actor selection and voice production. The game established the new record for the most lines of dialogue in a single-player action role-playing game. The game contains around 65,000 lines of dialogue, beating its predecessor and previous record holder Fallout 3 which contained 40,000 lines of dialogue.[31]
Fallout 3 composer Inon Zur composed the score for the game.[32] The game features three major in-game radio stations, spanning several genres of music in the radio waves: сountry, popular music from the 1940s and 1950s, jazz and classical. Each station has a set track list which repeats randomly.[33] Music from the first two Fallout games, composed by Mark Morgan, is used in the game as well.[34][35]
On February 4, 2010, Obsidian Entertainment released the Fallout: New Vegas teaser trailer. A second trailer was first shown on GameTrailers from E3 on June 11, 2010.[36]
Release
Promotion at IgroMir 2010
Bethesda announced four pre-order bonus packs giving specific in-game items, they include the 'Classic', 'Tribal', 'Caravan' and 'Mercenary' packs available when pre-ordering at specific outlets,[37] all of the listed pre-order packs were later made available for purchase on September 27, 2011. The Collector's Edition was revealed on May 11, 2010.[38] It was distributed worldwide and is available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.[38] Its enclosed contents include seven real clay poker chips from the Fallout: New Vegas casinos, a deck of cards each with a character on them with information on that person, a graphic novel leading up to the events of New Vegas, a Lucky 38 large platinum chip replica, and a making-of documentary.[38]
Fallout: New Vegas was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 19, 2010, in North America, October 21, 2010, in Australia, and October 22, 2010, in Europe.[39][40] Within hours of the game's release on October 19, 2010, players of Fallout: New Vegas began reporting a variety of technical issues (saved games becoming corrupted, the game freezing, players becoming stuck within the terrain, and random NPCs appearing behind the player, initiating combat out of context).[41][42]Bethesda Game Studios stated that they, in conjunction with Obsidian, were actively working on an update for release 'as soon as possible' to address in-game issues. They also urged customers to keep their copies of New Vegas rather than return them to stores, stating that providing the best possible experience to their users was a priority.
Within a week of the original release, a patch was available for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 versions of the game, which contained over 200 quest and scripting-related fixes.[43] The update released on December 14, 2010, has fixed further glitches and save game problems, including companion-related bugs.[44] Subsequent updates were released in February and April that corrected numerous bugs and gameplay issues. A patch was released on July 5, 2011, that included a provision that automatically creates a save prior to the endgame sequence. After credits, the user is prompted to load this save game, allowing single save players to play DLC without creating a new game.[45]Additional to the official patches the user community started to create community patches to fix remaining issues.[46]
The game engine has had major performance issues on the PlayStation 3. These issues have led to unplayable frame-rates when the save game file gets too big or when DLC is installed. Due to the nature of the game, the longer the player plays, the larger the save file becomes. These same issues plagued The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, but a performance patch to improve New Vegas seems unlikely. Sawyer said that it is a core-engine issue that can not be so easily patched.[47][48]
Downloadable content
On October 18, 2010, Bethesda Softworks announced that downloadable content (DLC) would be available for New Vegas, in keeping with its predecessor Fallout 3. Six add-on packs have been released. The six add-ons are titled 'Dead Money', 'Honest Hearts', 'Old World Blues', 'Lonesome Road', 'Gun Runners Arsenal', and 'Courier's Stash'. Overall, the player's level cap is increased by 20, starting at 30 and up to 50 with all add-ons installed.
Dead Money
The first add-on pack was released for the Xbox 360 on December 21, 2010,[49][50] and for PlayStation 3 and PC (via Steam) on February 22, 2011.[51][52] In Dead Money, the Courier is captured by an insane ex-Brotherhood of Steel leader known as Father Elijah and must work alongside three[49] other captives to find the fabled treasure of the Sierra Madre Casino, concealed from the world by a deadly toxic cloud.[49] The pack adds new achievements/trophies, new weapons, perks, terrain, enemies and decisions for the player,[49][50] as well as raising the level cap by five.[49] It is the only one of the four story add-ons that cannot be revisited after the completion of its main questline.[53]
Honest Hearts
The second pack was released on May 17, 2011, on Xbox Live and Steam and June 2, 2011, on the PlayStation Network due to the April—May outage.[54] In Honest Hearts, the Courier takes part in a trading expedition to Utah's Zion National Park, when they are attacked by tribal raiders.[55] While trying to return to the Mojave, the Courier becomes involved in conflicts between the tribes and between a 'New Canaanite' (post-apocalyptic incarnation of Mormonism) missionary and an individual known as the 'Burned Man', Caesar's former Legate, who, after losing the first battle of Hoover Dam, was covered in pitch, set on fire, and thrown into the Grand Canyon.[55] The pack adds new achievements/trophies, perks, terrain, items, enemies and decisions for the player, as well as raising the level cap by five.
Old World Blues
In Old World Blues, the Courier is abducted and unwittingly becomes a lab rat in a science experiment gone awry and discovers how some of the Mojave's mutated creatures and dangerous technology came to exist. Old World Blues takes place in the Pre-War research centers of Big Mountain, known colloquially as 'the Big Empty' or 'Big MT'. The player can also choose to either turn on their kidnappers or join with them to fight an even greater threat.[56] This pack offers new achievements/trophies, perks, a vast area to explore, and raises the level cap by five like the previous two packs. Old World Blues was released on July 19, 2011.[57]
Lonesome Road
In Lonesome Road, the Courier is contacted by Ulysses, an ex-legionary and courier who, upon seeing the Courier's name on a list of possible deliverers, refused to deliver the Platinum Chip that was ultimately responsible for the Courier's attempted murder.[56] Ulysses was a character whose involvement in the story had been hinted since New Vegas' initial release, and Lonesome Road concludes his story, as well as that of the Courier.[58] Initially, Lonesome Road was planned to be released in August 2011; however, the add-on was delayed until September 20 for unspecified reasons.[58][59]
Gun Runners' Arsenal and Courier's Stash
On September 27, 2011,[60] Bethesda released two content packs titled Gun Runners' Arsenal and Courier's Stash.[58][60]Gun Runners' Arsenal adds various new weapons and weapon mods (along with new ammo types) to the game, which can be found throughout the game world.[58][60]Courier's Stash contains all bonus content that was previously only available for pre-ordering the game (the 'Caravan Pack', 'Classic Pack', 'Mercenary Pack' and 'Tribal Pack').[58][60]
Ultimate Edition
On November 3, 2011, Bethesda announced Fallout: New Vegas – Ultimate Edition, which includes the game and all of its downloadable content. It was released worldwide throughout February 2012.[61]
J.E. Sawyer's mod
On December 29, 2011, Fallout: New Vegas director Josh 'J.E.' Sawyer released an unofficial mod for the PC version. The mod adjusts the maximum level to 35, halves the rate of increase in player experience points, reduces base player health, reduces the base weight a player can carry, defines certain characters as good or evil rather than neutral, and makes various other adjustments. These are changes that Sawyer wanted to be included in the game, but they were not released as an official update. This mod requires all add-on packs to work.[62][63]
New California
Fallout: New California is a massive fan-made overhaul mod for Fallout: New Vegas by Radian-Helix Media, adding an all new feature-length campaign and world space, complete with voiced characters, quests, companions, factions and multiple endings, set in the California Wastelands of the San Bernardino Mountains.[64] Another modding team also has plans to recreate Fallout: New Vegas in the Fallout 4 engine.[65]

Fallout: New Vegas received 'generally favorable' reviews from critics according to review aggregator Metacritic. Critics praised the gameplay improvements and expanded content over Fallout 3, while criticizing familiarity and technical issues. As of November 8, 2010, the game had shipped 5 million copies worldwide,[84] achieving revenue of $300 million.[85] Electronic Entertainment Design and Research, a market research firm, estimates that the game had sold 11.6 million copies worldwide by 2015.[86]
IGN's Keza MacDonald praised the game's script, but criticized the character models and facial animation as 'wooden and unbelievable'.[67][68]Eurogamer commented that 'Obsidian has created a totally compelling world and its frustrations pale into insignificance compared to the immersive, obsessive experience on offer. Just like the scorched scenery that provides its epic backdrop, New Vegas is huge and sprawling, sometimes gaudy, even downright ugly at times – but always effortlessly, shamelessly entertaining.'[69] According to GameSpot's Kevin VanOrd, the game's 'familiar rhythm will delight fans of the series, and the huge world, expansive quests, and hidden pleasures will have [the players] itching to see what other joys you might uncover. However, as time wears on, the constant glitches invade almost every element of the game and eventually grow wearisome.'[71]
Giant Bomb's Jeff Gerstmann reviewed Fallout: New Vegas for the Xbox 360 positively, despite its many crash bugs and glitches. Gerstmann wrote: 'When I reflect on the experience, I'll probably think about the times the game locked up on me or broke in a dozen other crazy ways first, before thinking about the great world and the objectives that fill it. If you were able to look past the issues that plagued Fallout 3 and Oblivion before it, New Vegas will eventually show you a real good time.'[87]1UP.com's Mike Nelson wrote 'On one hand, it feels like I can recommend this to any fan of the Fallout series. I single these fans out because they're willing to forgive silly bugs like meeting characters who walk into walls or occasionally float in mid-air. These fans realize that the game as a whole is greater than the sum of minor graphical anomalies. On the other hand, I simply can't ignore or forgive the game for crashing on me when I walk around the Mojave Wasteland; or for quests that simply can't be completed because of a game glitch; or for making my companions disappear when I need them the most during a battle. These are some of the most frustrating bugs I have ever encountered with any game, especially when attached to a series that I deeply enjoy.'[66]

BioShock Reference[edit]
In the add-on 'Gun Runners Arsenal,' you'll encounter a challenge called 'A Slave Obeys.' Within it, you are instructed to kill Mr. House with a 9-iron. This is an apparent reference to a similar scene in BioShock.

Finding Fallout 3's Wasteland Survival Guide[edit]
If you've played Fallout3 and you know about Moira Brown's 'Wasteland survival guide' than you know what this is. What you do is travel to Lone Wolf Radio, then go in the camper and right next to a bed you will find it. The Wild Wasteland perk is required to find it and the guide gives you a perminent survival skill boost of 3 points.

Don't Die from Falling[edit]
Right before you hit the ground, save. Load that save and you will land lightly on the ground.
Steal All 37 Gold Bars In 'Dead Money' (DLC)[edit]
Note: You will need a few C4 and a Detonator for this exploit. In the final part of the game you will enter a vault with 37 gold bars weighing 35 pounds each. Each gold bar is worth 10.539 caps. Clearly you can not take them all -- unless you use this exploit.
Enter the vault and the door will seal behind you. Take everything in the room that you want to including the 36 gold bars on the table to your right and the 1 gold bar on the overseers desk. Deactivate the security system and activate the computer on the desk. IMPORTANT: Only read 'Vera', DO NOT access the file that shows up after you read it. Elijah will appear on the monitor, convince him to meet you in the vault. When the conversation ends leave the room immediately (it unlocks), and walk to the far right stairway. A blue force field will appear blocking your path, lay your C4 at the bottom of those stairs and then press your body against the blue force field in the doorway. When Elijah finishes speaking, for some reason you and he switch places. (You'll see what I mean) Make sure he is on or very near your C4. Detonate and leave the way you came. Congratulations you now have 37 Gold Bars worth a total of 389.943 Caps.
Win Big at Caravan[edit]
You can stack the deck in your favor to win at Caravan virtually every time. A Caravan deck has a minimum of 30 cards -- which you can buy from merchants or find on dead bodies -- so you need to choose those that will get you between 22 and 26 consistently while also giving you defensive cards to use against your opponent.
Here's a great setup. Take these cards with you:
10s
9s
8s
7s
6s
Kings
Jacks
Aces
2 Jokers
9s
8s
7s
6s
Kings
Jacks
Aces
2 Jokers
Jacks, Aces and Jokers are defensive plays. Use Jacks to remove cards from your opponent. Ace and Joker played will remove all cards of your Ace's suit (an Ace of Spades and Joker will remove all spades from the table). Kings will double whatever they are placed on. Optimally, 6+K+K = 24.
Here's how to play to win: To open, lay down your highest or lowest cards first to start the 'base' of your caravan. 10+9+8=27 so don't use this combination. 6+7+8=21 so don't use this either (unless you put your Ace down after the 8 to make 22). But every play between is a winner. As stated above, 6+K+K=24 is also a winner. Using this strategy, you are virtually guaranteed to win each hand of caravan, no matter how high your luck!
You can accumulate nearly unlimited items and caps by playing Caravan. Seek out vendors with lots of cash and items. Buy all the items you can afford off them, then challenge them to a few games of Caravan and win back all your money!
Really Easy Caps from Gun Runners[edit]
The Gun Runners store on the east side of New Vegas has a locked fence and several guard blocking the entrance to the 'factory.' Pick the lock and the Gun Runners will begin firing at you. Kill them and loot their bodies for Combat Armor, Hunting Rifles and Combat Helmets. All of these items are worth money, and each Gun runner has about 1,500-2,000 Caps worth of loot on their person. Enter the building to find more Runners to slay. After doing this, approach the Vend-Tron robot at the Gun Runner shop, who has 8,000 Caps to burn, and sell it your loot. Now, travel far away, wait for three in-game days and return to the area to find the Gun Runners have respawned and are ripe for the 'harvest.'
Kill People with No Consequences[edit]
You can kill people without making them hostile or damaging your reputation. Pick up a barrel or any large object you push or pick up. Drop it next to a standing NPC that isn't leaning against a wall, doing push ups, or sitting on ground or in a chair. Run against the barrel or large moveable object, it will damage the NPC without becoming hostile and losing reputation. However, it can damage you a little and might send the object flying. I would recommend trying it on stationary targets until you get used to this trick. Note: Heavier armored or tougher NPCs will take a while to kill with this method.
Unique Armor[edit]
Here is a list of where you can find unique armor.
Gannon Family Tesla Armor: The Gannon Family Tesla Armor can be obtained during the personal quest for Arcade Gannon. When doing his quest and gathering all his allies, convince him to stay in Freeside for the duration of the battle. You need an INCREDIBLY high speech ability -- at least 80 speech. As a reward, he will give you the Gannon Family Tesla Armor, helmet and all. You need power armor training to wear this. Submitted by gamerzgod123.
Chinese Stealth Armor: The Chinese stealth armor can be found in the Hoover Dam offices. It's in the room with the toxic barrels and green goop. Once you see the room, turn to your left. You should see a bunch of wooden crates. Inside one of these crates is two sets of Chinese Stealth Armor. Both weigh 20.00. Unfortunately, the invisibility thing the armor does in Fallout 3, is gone now -- all it does is give you +5 sneak. Submitted by gamerzgod123.
T-51b Power Armor: Armor or to be precise armors are located near HELIOS 1 . From there head west towards the cliffs. From the cliffs turn left and head to a small canyon, which by the way is full of scorpions, that leads to a 'Scorpion gulch'. There you have 2 options up left or up right. Up left is Brotherhood of Steels camp, but we head up right. When you detect small amounts of radiation you're close. Kill a few centaurs that are leaching the radiation and you see a possible meteor crater with large amounts of radiation. At the bottom you see two(2) dead Brotherhood of Steel Paladins who wear T-51b Power Armors. Armors are in pretty bad shape, but after repairing them you own possibly best armor of the game. Submitted by PhoenixFIN.
T-51b Power Armor (Non Faction): This armor does not have any faction effects, and is the only NON-BROTHERHOOD T-51b power armor in the Game. The Deathclaw Promontory is located across the river East of Ranger Station Echo. There is no map marker for this location. Look for a walkway that goes up a mountain right off the shore. You must defeat 20-25 Deathclaws including 2 Mothers and 1 Alpha male. There are 2 dead prospectors bodies lying on the ground on the far right side of this area. One of them has the T-51b Power armor and a Tri-Beam Laser Rifle and the other has the Remnants Power Armor and a Multiplas Rifle. Submitted by Zackari Graham.
Kill Without Gaining Infamy[edit]
You need an anti-material rifle with incendiary ammo for this cheat. Equip your rifle and change the ammo type to incendiary. Use VATS on a target and quit the VATS after targeting. Now the target is on fire without you gaining infamy or agroing anyone. You may use this trick several times on stronger targets. Note: This cheat worked before later updates; it may be patched.
Infinite Magazines[edit]
In Freeside, go to the Old Mormon Fort. Seek out Julie Farkes inside the Fort. Choose the dialogue option to help them get medical supplies. Click through the dialogue options to hear one that tells you that she just got a shipment of magazines. After all this you will need to choose the option 'I have some medical supplies to drop off.' There are three options; choose the Rad-Away as this is the easiest one of the three to find. You only need to leave one thing if you don't care about fame. Every time you give them something you will gain more fame. After you give them the supplies choose the option 'I'd like to buy medical supplies.' There are a few aid supplies here that you can get if you want although they will not regenerate. In the supply list you can find the Magazines. Buy up what you want and then exit. After that, choose the option to give med supplies again. This time you need not give them anything just choose the 'Never mind' option. Go back to 'Buy medical supplies' and you can repeat teh process for more magazines. You can do it infinitely as long as you choose to drop off supplies first. You can even come back to at a later time. Here are the magazines you can score:
- Fix-in' Things - Repair +10
- Lad's Life - Survival +10
- Meeting People - Speech +10
- Programmer's Digest - Science +10
- Salesman Weekly - Barter +10
- Today's Physician - Medical -10

Deckard's Gun from Blade Runner[edit]
The store in Novac has 'That Gun,' a gun that resembles Deckard's Gun from Blade Runner. This is also the name of a gun in previous Fallout games.
Unique Weapons[edit]
Each weapon type in Fallout 3 has a unique weapon with special capabilities. Here is a list of where you can find these unique weapons.
Abilene Kid LE BB Gun: The Abilene Kid LE BB gun is a unique BB gun. It can be found in Fields Shack on the shelf to the far left corner of the house. If you have the Wild Wasteland trait from the beginning of the game on, it will be located in Jimmy's Well, which is just outside of Fields Shack. If you have Rex the cyber dog, and you talk to him with the Wild Wasteland Trait, he might start howling and eventually he will mark Jimmy's Well on the map for you. You get a variety of guesses to figure out what's wrong, but the correct one is that someone fell down a well, which is a reference to Lassie. Fields Shack is located between Nellis Airforce Base and New Vegas Medical clinic, if your having difficulty, it's North East from the clinic, and South west of the airforce base. It's on the road to and from the Airforce base, you should see a guy named George, warning you about the Boomers and their artillery guns. Submitted by gamerzgod123.
AER14 Prototype: This laser rifle is located in Vault 22. This vault can be found between Westside and Jacobstown or by doing the side quest There Stands the Grass for the scientist at Camp McCarren. Once inside, you'll find the rifle on the fifth level-pest control, behind a (very easy) locked door leading into a blocked off area of the fourth level. Look on the ground next to a skeleton and there it is. Submitted by MetalHead896.
Alien Blaster: Find the crashed alien ship near top right hand corner of map. The ship is on top of the cliffs. Below are 3 aliens. Kill the captain for the blaster and ammo -- like Fallout 3 it's one of the best guns in the game. Submitted by haigy.
All-American: All American is a unique Marksman Carbine. You can find it at the armory in Vault 34. First, find the passwords from the drowned techies underwater -- it helps if you have the rebreather. Find the terminal that holds one of the passwords, that will unlock a door. That leads to another room with another drowned techie. Take that password to security sector A and there is another terminal that will control the pump to drain the water. This will give you access to another room that you couldn't reach before. Using the new found password, you will unlock the Overseer door and with that terminal. You unlock the armory door that holds All American and a crap ton of other loot. Beware of ALOT of feral ghouls. All American is found on a turned over table directly to your right point of view once you enter the room. Vault 34 is INCREDIBLY confusing. Submitted by gamerzgod123.
Annabelle: Annabelle is a unique missile launcher carried by a super mutant sniper, on Black Rock Mountain, on Black Rock Summit, somewhere near Goodsprings and Jacobson Town. the mutant is on what looks to be a electrical tower or a radio tower of some sort. He's carrying Annabelle -- you can't miss him, he'll be the one shooting you on top of a radio tower. The place is SWARMING with nightkin and super mutant masters mostly and the place is HEAVILY irradiated, get armor and pop some Rad-X, this won't be easy. Submitted by gamerzgod123.
Fallout New Vegas Cut Creatures
Big Boomer: Big Boomer is a unique sawed-off shotgun carried by Old Lady Gibson in Gibson Scrap Yard, North of Novac. You must kill her -- preferably silently and undetected due to the amount of dogs with her. DO NOT kill her until you finish the 'ED-E my Love' and 'Come Fly with Me' quests, otherwise you will fail the quests. Submitted by gamerzgod123.
Chance's Knife: Chances Knife is a unique combat knife located in Chance's Grave, which is located at the tribal village. The tribal Village is located north west of Goodsprings Cemetery and North and little west of Goodsprings itself. The place is pretty obscure since it's in a very mountainous region of the map. The village is dangerous in a sense, since they are usually some Cazadors and a few Fiends. Bring a good weapon just in case. You need a shovel to dig the grave, and the grave is pretty obscure too -- it's on a hidden hill, near the village. Submitted by gamerzgod123.
Chopper: The Chopper is a unique meat cleaver found on the stove of Wolfhorn Ranch. Wolfhorn Ranch is located South East of the Prospectors Den, which is South East of Primm, and the ranch is also fairly close to Nipton, North East of Nipton where the road turns right and splits into a bunch of roads. Submitted by gamerzgod123.
Cram Opener: The Cram Opener is a unique bladed gauntlet carried by Little Buster who can be found in Camp McCarren, punching a punching bag. If you hunt Fiend bounties for the NCR, they will point you to Little Buster. You must kill him to get the Cram Opener. He will disappear eventually, so be quick. Submitted by gamerzgod123.
CZ57 Avenger: Here is how to find the upgraded mini gun called the C257 Avenger. The easiest way to get to it is to find Ranger Station Bravo. If you've done the Return To Sender quest you've probably already found it. If not, it is six sections down from the top of the right side of the map, and between three and four to the left. Once you get there, travel east. You should discover a place called the Devil's Throat. It is highly radiated so have some Rad-X on hand as well as some Rad-Away. You can make pretty easy work of the Evolved Centaurs and the Centaurs there. Once you clear the area, this extremely fast mini gun is in the truck along with plenty of 5mm ammo for it. Submitted by Frankie Schaller.
Driver Nephi's Golf Driver: Nephi's Golf driver is a unique golf club, and is one of the 'simpler' melee weapons to get. The golf club is located on Driver Nephi, who is a fiend, so either way, you will probably kill him. He is located around the area of Camp McCarren and New Vegas and is one of the three fiend bounties, so if you can't find him, activate the quest and it will point you in the right direction. You can activate the quest by talking to a guy located in Camp McCarren. Submitted by gamerzgod123 .
Euclid's C-Finder: Euclid's C-Finder is a unique weapon that uses the power of the sun to burn your enemies to ash. It can only be fired once per day -- and only outside -- because the lasers must recharge. To use this weapon, during the quest 'That Lucky Old Sun,' you must program the Helios One power station output to ARCHIMEDES. You can find it in freeside, near the east gate -- a boy named Max carries it. You can either buy it for 1000 Caps (or 20 Caps with a barter skill of 45), pickpocket, or take it from his bedside while he is sleeping. He goes to sleep around 9:30. He sleeps on the second floor of the building on the right after coming into Freeside from the East Gate. Submitted by Zackari Graham.
Figaro: Figaro is a unique straight razor. You obtain this weapon by killing Sergio in the back of The Kings School of Impersonation. Try to be stealthy about it; everyone in that building has a gun. Sergio is the barber of the Kings. Submitted by gamerzgod123 .
Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle: The Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle is a unique sniper rifle found in the foot locker in the snipers nest overlooking Cottonwood Cove, a Legion hideout/base. You MUST have a Lockpick skill of 100 to open the footlocker. Submitted by gamerzgod123 .
Golden Gloves: If you want the Golden Gloves, look inside the Lucky 38 Casino in The Strip. Look in the Casino upstairs on the left side above the cashier station and look in the top shelf on the left side of the bar table. The Golden Gloves and the Boxing Times magazine will be right there. Submitted by FNV easter egg finder.
Holy Hand Grenade: The Holy Hand Grenades are exactly what they sound like; grenades. You can find them in the most eastern church of Camp Searchlight, which is somewhere in the southern part of the map. There is a catch though: You MUST take the Wild Wasteland Trait at the Beginning of the game or the grenades will be replaced with a mini nuke for a Fat Man. The basement does contain some golden geckos and high radiation, so pop some Rad-x before heading down. Submitted by gamerzgod123 .
Knock Knock: Knock Knock is a unique fire axe that can be found in Camp Search Lights Fire Station. You need to have a key to the building so first go talk with prospector leader who is stationed at the church basement. Go fetch few radiation suits for him and then you can follow him to the police station and after that to the fire station. Kill this massive Queen radscorpion and grab a couple fire axes with you (can be used to repair the 'Knock Knock'). Go to second floor and advance to the toilets. Open the second booth from the door and grab 'Knock Knock.' Submitted by PnoenixFIN.
La Longue Carabine: La Longue Carabine is a unique Cowboy Repeater carried by Corporal Sterling whom you must kill if you want to obtain it. Submitted by gamerzgod123.
Liberator: The Liberator is a unique machete carried by Legion officer Dead Sea who is located in Nelson. If you're friendly towards the Legion, Nelson is located near the South east corner of the map, west of the Giant River that separates from the mainland. If you're friendly towards NCR, follow the quest for the NCR in Camp Forlorn Hope and talk to the commander inside the tent. Eventually he will send you and 3 other guys to retake Nelson. You will probably kill Dead Sea by the end of it. Search corpses until you find the Liberator -- it will be found on dead Sea. Submitted by gamerzgod123 .
Love and Hate: Love and Hate is a unique spiked knuckles. You can get it from Bonnie Springs (located north from Goodsprings cemetery). Kill Viper gang leader and loot her body. Submitted by PhoenixFIN.
Lucky: Lucky is a unique .357 revolver. It can be found at the Steve Bison place in Primm. It's behind the cash register in the gift shop, in a safe that's in the floor. The gift shop is the the most North Eastern part of the first floor. You must have a lockpick skill of 75 to open the lock. Submitted by gamerzgod123.
Maria: This pistol is really easy to get. When you get to meet Caesar (Caesar's legion) all you need to do is complete a short guest from Caesar and after that you are given a chance to kill Benny. Kill Benny and then loot his corpse. You find this pistol 'Maria', which by the way is the same pistol that Benny used to 'kill' you when the game began. Submitted by PhoenixFIN.
Mercy: Mercy is a unique grenade machine gun is THE most difficult weapon to obtain in the game. First, it's in a rather obscure location, it's located in Dead Wind Cavern, and no one would think to look in there. Second, the place is friggin SWARMING with Deathclaw (normal, couple of alpha males and mother) and the absolute most powerful enemy in the game, 'The Legendary DeathClaw'. Make sure you KNOW what your doing, before entering, or it'll result in an untimely death. Mercy is located at the end of Dead Wind Cavern, next to a dead Brother of Steel member. It's in the same room as the Legendary Deathclaw. If you have Holy Frag Grenades, use them; these things will usually result in a one hit kill, WITH power armor. Submitted by gamerzgod123.
The Mysterious Magnum: This unique weapon can obtained when you are doing a quest to bring in fresh talent for The Tops. One of the fresh talents is located east of the HELIOS Solar Power Plant near a roadside billboard next to the interstate road. If you can successfully recruit him and ask for a reward, he give you his dad's weapon, the Mysterious Magnum. Every time you draw out that weapon, you sound like you are the Mysterious Stranger, which we may now confirm the relationship. Submitted by Michael Charles.
Oh, Baby!: Oh Baby! is a Unique Super Sledge located in Charleston's Cave, located North East of Jacobson Town, just behind the gate, up the hills. Don't go to far, just around the town gate. The over powered weapon is on the ground next to the dead nightkin. The location is part of a quest, so activate it by talking to Doctor Henry. The place has some night stalkers in it, but they shouldn't give you much trouble. If you have the Wild Wasteland Trait on, there may be dead big horner corpses as well, it's easy to miss, but if you do, it could be under one of the big horner bodies, it helps to have Rex to help you spot it. If it is, just try to move the corpse, if that doesn't work, blow up the corpse using anything, guns, melee -- don't use explosives as that might send Oh, baby! flying somewhere and you can't find it. Submitted by gamerzgod123.
Paladin Toaster: This is a special power fist that is found in Black Rock Cavern northwest of HELIOS One. You have to kill a few nightkin, and the toaster will be found on the corpse of a prospecter. This glove is pretty much an EMP punch that can kill at any unarmed skill level. Submitted by Darth_Nacho.
Pew Pew: Pew Pew is a insanely powerful laser pistol and can be found on the body of Allen Marks. To get to Allen Marks you must complete the quest, 'The Legend of the Star' to do this, you must collect 50 Sunset Sarsaparilla blue star bottle caps and turn them in to Festus, the goofy broken cowboy guy directly left when you enter the Sunset Sarsaparilla headquarters. Pew Pew may be powerful, but there is a downside. This beast of a gun eats up 15 energy cells per shot. You may say, 'I have a lot of cells, it won't be a problem.' Yes there will be, you will be reloading often which makes firefights tough. Submitted by gamerzgod123.
Pushy: Pushy is a unique Displacer Glove that can be found in the Ruby Hill Mine, which is on the trail near Jacobson Town. You will find Pushy on the body of a dead Jackal member Near a giant pool of water. The mine is crawling with swamplurks, but they aren't too tough. Submitted by gamerzgod123.
Q-38 Matter Modulator: Head to the REPCONN Headquarters (North of REPCONN Facility and Novac). This unique Plasma Rifle (and item that Marvin the Martian always looked for in Looney Tunes) is found on the first floor. The easiest way to obtain this weapon is to make your way to the 3rd floor and find (beside the pile of rubble the B.O.S. patrol is under) the suitcase a skeleton is holding. Open it and remove the security key. Go to the second floor and find its corresponding door to enter a room with a hole in the floor to find the rifle in the corner in a strange container. Submitted by Linkmelee 1993.
Ranger Sequoia: This is a super-powerful 45-70 revolver. It can be found on NCR Ranger Chief Hanlon at Camp Golf. It's easiest to obtain during Return to Sender in Camp Forlorn Hope (NCR). When you confront Hanlon, choose to turn him in and he will accept. Afterwards he gives a speech and promptly commits suicide in his office on the first floor. Open the office and pick up the super-powered revolver for yourself. Note: You will lose a little Karma because you have to steal it even though he is dead -- it is lying on the floor. It does well over 100 damage when guns maxed out. Submitted by Spencer Stone.
Fallout New Vegas Creature Pack
The Rat Slayer: In Freeside, go to The Atomic Wrangler Bar and talk to the female bartender. Ask about getting a room, but instead of paying the 10 caps, ask if you could work out a deal. She will give you a quest in which you have to collect the debt of 3 people throughout Freeside. One the them is named Lady Jane and can be found by the entrance to New Vegas in the day. When you question her about her debt she will say she doesn't have the money, but a carvan of her's in a place called Broc Flower Cave does. If your Speech/Barter is high enough you can convince her to cough the money up, but for the sake of the weapon you will want to go to the cave. She will warn you about the Rodents of Unusual Size (A Princess Bride refrence). Once you arrive at the cave go down the path to the right. A dead Brahmin on the left of the irradiated dead end has the money. To the right is a semi-hidden passageway upward to to 2 or 3 R.O.U.Ses and a stockpile of supplies including The Rat Slayer, an unique Varmint Rifle. Submitted by John Metcalf.
Recompance Of The Fallen: Recompance Of The Fallen is a unique weapon found in Cottonwood Cove. It is a pair of brass-knuckles/spike knuckles made of Dog-Tags. It can be found in the desk of the top floor of Aurelius de Phoenix's office building just inside Cottonwood Cove. It has high damage and diminishes slowly in condition. Submitted by Zackari Graham.
Tesla Beaton Prototype Weapon: This weapon is found at the site of the crashed Vertibird. It can be repaired for 11,000 to 12,000 caps and will do up to 108 damage. When trying to get to the weapon, be wary of the hardened Mister Gutsys and hardened Sentrybots. Submitted by InsertCashHere.
I bought an asus netbook off craigslist with windows pro xp engineered to tiny xp no problem for a good 18 months 2 years until i, at the suggestion of our office’s i/t person, since i was running out of space, transferred my virus program from avast to the msn security system — which is when the black pirate screen &c began to appear. Now hit it and you will make your windows XP genuineCheers.Chand February 2, 2010, 6:59 am. Open “my computer” and browse to the c: now you will see the same file turns into Reg file appears in green cube blocks. Windows xp telephone activation keygen.
That Gun: That Gun can be found at Novac gift shop on a metal crate. Buy the storage key and you can steal it. Submitted by Humanoid97.
This Machine: This Machine is a unique rifle that uses .308 ammo. You can get this weapon at Camp McCarran by talking to Col.James Hsu about things going on around the base. Next talk to Lt. Carrie Boyd and help her find some missing supplies. She'll point you in the direction of Sergeant Contreras who is in the supply shack in back of McCarran. Hack his computer and report back to Boyd. She'll give you this weapon. Submitted by MetalHead896.
Thump Thump: At Nelson, after you get into the base, help the leader with the ant problem. Once your down there, look for two generators. Don't go to them, but go right to the other side to find a skeleton with the Thump Thump and around 20 or 30 rounds. Submitted by Devin Taylor.
Vance's Gun: From the ransacked caravan near the north of the map, head south and follow the road. On your right there will be a shack called The Wins Hideout, head inside and talk to the Vickie and Vance wannabees if you wish -- you will need to kill them in order to open their safe (and have a lockpick skill of 100). Inside is Vance's 9mm Sub Machine Gun. You can also steal Vance's Lucky Hat and Vickie's Bonet from the corpses. Submitted by mattoo alli.
YCS/186: The YCS/186 is a unique Gauss rifle and can easily be obtained by killing a group of mercenaries northeast of Jacobson Town and north of the ransacked caravan on the road to Jacobson Town. If you know where the aliens are, the mercenaries are nearby. There is a catch though: You must NOT take the Wild Wasteland Trait in the beginning of the game, if you do, they will be replaced by aliens. Submitted by gamerzgod123.
Fun with Fisto the Sexbot[edit]
In Fallout 3 there was a upgraded power fist called 'Fisto!' Fisto makes a return in Fallout: New Vegas as a sexbot that you must find for the quest 'Wang Dang Automatic Tango.' In the quest, you find Fisto in cerulean robotics. Once you release him from his tube, he gives you the option to test him out.
After completing the side quest to find a sex robot for the silver rush Fisto will make his way to the Silver Rush Casino. Inside next to the roulette table when you speak to him he'll offer his services but if you reply 'No thanks' it will give you ten caps. This can provide an unlimited supply of caps if you're willing to activate the chat over and over again.

Indiana Jones Reference[edit]
If you head south on the road out of Goodsprings (about 100 yds) you will come across a refrigerator at the base of a hill with a skeleton inside. On the skeletons head? A fedora. This is a reference to the latest (lamest?) Indiana Jones movie The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Choose 'Update Barcode' or 'Generate in new Window'. Instructions:Enter the data to be encoded and changeas necessary. Drivers license barcode by state.
Free and Unlimited Caps, Items and More[edit]
Like Fallout 3, you can use this trading exploit to earn essentially infinite amounts of caps, items, repairs and ammunition. Here's how:
1 // Find any shop-based trader and sell him any stuff in your inventory that you don't need and complete the transaction. This will boost the amount of money he has.
2 // Find something in your inventory that you have two of or something that you and the shop keeper both have. Sell an item or two to the trader so he has two of them.
3 // Check that the two identical items are of different values once they are in the trader's inventory. The bigger the difference in value, the better.
4 // Now buy the cheaper of the two identical items and complete the transaction, but do not leave the trade session. Look for the item in your inventory. The item should have gone up in value dramatically and should be 100% repaired, even though when you sold the item initially it wasn't! If it isn't 100% repaired for whatever reason, sell the item back to him anyway and repeat steps 3-4, trying a different item if necessary.
5 // Now you will be able to sell the same item for a high price and buy it back at a low price until you have drained his money completely. If you want, you can hold onto the item as it will be fully repaired -- simply keep it on the final round which will leave him with a small amount of money. Either sell the item back to him again once he is out of money, or if you are keeping it, sell him something else of high value and he will owe you that amount. The transaction price will go dim and remain at whatever amount of money he has left.
6 // Search through the trader's inventory and find stuff you need. Stimpaks, ammo, miscellaneous item, weapons and armor are all fair game. Eventually, the transaction price will light up again and you may owe him a few caps depending on how much of his stuff you added to the deal. Complete the transaction.
7 // If you wait three days he will have new stock and around 650 caps. The longer you wait, the more robust his inventory will become and the more caps he'll have for you to take when you're ready to do this all over again.
Note: Be sure to save while using this method since the game is prone to crashing during the transaction.

Aunt Beru and Uncle Owen from Star Wars?[edit]
A scene resembling the burned corpses of Aunt Beru and Uncle Owen can be found within the town of Nipton out front of a burned down building (Moisture Farm?). It's a short walk to the right of the town hall's front entrance.
Achievement/Trophy Hint: Snow Globes[edit]
The Globe Trotter Achievement / Trophy requires you to collect seven Snow Globes in New Vegas. Here are the locations of all seven:
- Mt. Charleston Snow Globe - Jacobstown / In the lodge, search the entrance and reception area. This Snow Globe is sitting on a curved desk by some terminals.
- Mormon Fort - Old Mormon Fort / Julie Farkas has an office inside a tower at the fort. The Snow Globe is on top of a bookcase here.
- Test Site - Lucky 38 Casino / Head to the cocktail lounge and look for the cash register. It's across from the entrance. The Snow Globe is behind the register.
- The Strip - Vault 21 / After you access Sarah's locked bedroom, grab this Snow Globe off of the table between the two beds.
- Nellis AFB - Nellis Air Force Base / Pete's makeshift museum holds this Snow Globe. It's on a table in the corner under a mural.
- Hoover Dam - Hoover Dam / Search the visitor center for a terminal near two curved desks. The Snow Globe can be found on a desk here.
- Goodsprings - Goodsprings Cemetery / Near the water tower is a patch of upturned soil by a small, rectangular grave marker. The Snow Globe is sitting in front of the marker.
Infinite XP[edit]
There are several ways to get XP through 'devious means,' here's a list of some of the most effective methods. Note: These methods are based on game bugs that may not be reproduce-able in every version of the game.
1 // You'll need to have a speech skill level of 50 or higher before attempting this trick. Approach Old Ben who sits by a fire near the King headquarters in Freeside. Persuade him to escort you to the local bar. For beating the Speech Challenge you'll get 61 XP. Follow him back to the bar and let him sit down. Speak to him again and you can do the Speech Challenge infinitely for unlimited XP.
2 // This trick requires 30 Speech skill or the Confirmed Bachelor perk and you must be friendly with NCR. Go to HELIOS One and the woman should automatically talk to you. Once she allows you access to HELIOS One, you should be able to start the 'That Lucky Old Sun' mission. Proceed with the mission and talk to Fantastic and Ignacio Rivas. While talking to Rivas, make sure you get him to reveal that he is a Follower of the Apocalypse by using Speech or Confirmed Bachelor and agree with his ideals about peace or say you are neutral. Complete the mission regularly until you get to the point where you activate the Mainframe Terminal. Configure the Power Grid to '5 Full Region (Emergency Output Level).' Finish the mission by hitting the Reflector Control Panel outside on top of the tower. Go back to Ignacio Rivas, and choose the 'I overloaded the plant. No one ..' option. That option will never disappear. Keep selecting that option to get 350 XP, 3 Stimpacks, and 2 Doctor's Bags. Submitted by Michael Gernhard
3 // Go to Vault 11 and you will get a small quest to find out what happened there. Once you get the overseer's passcode and enter it into her computer you will be led to the 'sacrifical chamber.' Use a stealthboy to get past everyone and when the walls on the left open (as you walk in) go into the door and access the computer mainframe. You will be given 3 options, 'Override' and 'Download' for 2 conversations. Click on the second download and you get 500 XP. DO NOT EXIT THE MAINFRAME. Simply click it again.. another 500 XP. You can do this repeatedly to max out your character. Submitted by Mike Avant
4 // You will need a Barter skill of 35 or higher for this. In the southeast corner of the map you will find Cottonwood Cove (alongside the river) you will meet a man named Aurelius of Phoenix (he sometimes wanders off out of the camp). Speak to him and choose to barter with his camp for ammo and supplies. Clicking on this nets you 35 XP but it does not stop conversation and can be continuously clicked for rapid XP gain. Even if you have Vilified yourself with The Legion this exploit still works. Submitted by Sinner

Don't Get Caught Stealing[edit]
1.You have to be somewhere where there is a spot out of the line of sight of all the surounding NPC's.
2.Figure out a good spot to hide in and save your game.
3.Click the right stick while you have selected the item you want to steal, but do not press the A button to steal it.
Fallout New Vegas Creatures Mod
4.This will allow you to safely carry the item to your designated hiding spot.
5.Now crouch and when it says [HIDDEN] you can steal it without losing reputation, or having an NPC attack you.
You may lose karma so try it once to make sure you won't have an undesired karma effect. A great place for this trick would be the Van Graff energy weapon shop. You can do this with any of the items on the counter and there is a hiding spot on the back side of the room.Enjoy!

I have not seen A SINGLE MOD on the Nexus that introduces new creatures. I mean, NEW creatures, not old creatures with different names and stats. I want new models, new AI's, a lore-friendly version, a non-lore-friendly version, backgrounds and logic in each new creature, new drops, new items, unique inspirations, and maybe even new locations. I am sorry if I sound demanding and pissy, but this is LONG overdue. I mean, not even ONE? It is sad. There are only 53 creatures in the game, and I'm pretty sure most of those are just variants of the same things. (ex: Ghoul, Feral Ghoul, Glowing One, et cetera) Now, you don't have to add in too much, but I don't understand how we have just Yao Guais, Super Mutants, Mutant Hounds, a few canines, some humanoids, and some insects and arachnids. A mutated cat would be cool. Or maybe a double-mutated cow. (Brahmin + FEV = ?) Just make this happen. I am sorry for going on a tangent, but this is so necessary it is a PROBLEM. Now, I am done. Maybe. Just do it!
